Asthma and Oral Health

Links between asthma and oral (mouth) health are growing stronger. There are now many research studies that show that asthma and asthma medications can affect the mouth. People with asthma and the oral health professionals who help them take care of their mouths and teeth need to know about this.

The Michigan Dept. of Health and Human Services Asthma and Oral Health programs have created two infographics to help explain the connection, and what to do to help.

  • Infographic for people with asthma and their caregivers
  • Fact sheet for oral health professionals
  • Learn more about oral health
